“Visual journalists are often the innovators. We’re the ones prepared to push against the status quo, to shake dust off old notions of what readers expect. And when visual journalists work together, it's a recipe for real change.”

ABOUT DAVID KORDALSKI

My background is primarily as a visual journalist, artist and information architect, but I strive for a 360-degree view when it comes to navigating a newsroom. I’ve coached, coaxed and collaborated with teams of print journalists, video editors and online graphic artists to produce more than three decades worth of highly creative and consistently award-winning work. Indeed, The Plain Dealer’s track record of success in design, graphics, illustration and photography competitions is the envy of our peers across the state and across the nation.
